late night writing

untitled

he’s sitting alone
she’s laying alive
bank counter after
hours
letter in hand
three words
thanks for nothing
where is she?
underground
thumping against wood
and dirt
thanks for nothing
he doesn’t know
she’s not home,
never will be again

a good prompt for an edgy, late-night (or is it early morning?) poem.
  • bank counter
  • postcard (made it a letter)
  • the sentence "thanks for nothing"
  • character loses a loved one (in this case, she's still alive)
playing with stories and little bits of info gets me so inspired, honestly.
